[Sports] Ravens vs. Steelers...why you shouldn't be pissed.

Now a lot of fans, including me, were livid over the result of the Ravens/Steelers matchup this past sunday at The Bank (M & T Bank Stadium). The Baltimore Ravens (8-4) slipped to second in the AFC North behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3), who now have a one point lead in the division. Over the past few days, Ravens Wide Reciever Derrick Mason and Head Coach John Harbaugh, among others, have come out, defending their loss to their own fans, more than even the news outlets or the front office.

Derrick Mason has been vocal, stating that "It's not one person's fault, it was a team effort" and Harbaugh has come out lambasting the fans, saying that if we are so angry at the team, then find another one to cheer for as he is proud of the effort our team puts out every week.

Now as far as i'm concerned, we as Ravens fans have no reason to react this way every single time we lose a game. If anyone who has some sort of social networking knows, whenever the Ravens screw up, its time to fire somebody. remember in week 4 when QB Joe Flacco threw 4 interceptions? Many of my Facebook friends were calling for him to be cut from the team! What the fuck?? I dare you all to look at our QB history from beginning to end and tell me why the FUCK would we want that?

Our team is 8-4 and #6 in the AFC. there is no reason why that one loss, our fourth of the year should be cause for alarm. Sure, our offense plays too conservatively and I think (or at least hope) that that is an issue Coach Harbaugh is going to and has addressed over practice the next past few days to make sure that the Ravens destroy the Texans on Monday Night.

In closing, be thankful that we are where we are. This year could be the year we break a franchise record and go to the playoffs for 3 straight years for the first time ever. I mean, we COULD be the 49ers...a 4-8 team in the NFC West that could still be a playoff contender...which believe me, is another blog for another time.
